Toodyay Recreation Centre in collaboration with the Shire of Toodyay is proud to launch an app called ToodyayMOVEs – a new and exciting tool for a collective ‘whole community’ approach to health and fitness. We want to help you to find ways of increasing your activity levels and to connect with other locals and community members.
What is ToodyayMOVES? The app is a branded version of the MyWellness health and fitness tracking app, developed by Technogym, a worldwide provider of gym equipment and fitness solutions. The App tracks physical activity and movement and integrates with all the main smart devices and watches – Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal, Polar, RunKeeper, Strava, Swimtag and Withings – to generate ‘MOVEs’ – a calculation of overall activity.
It’s a modern ‘gamification’ of physical activity and movement where participants are rewarded for being more active and can win prizes from within the local community while they compete against their friends. Think sporting groups pitted against each other, businesses competing against each other or families trying to outdo each other by accruing the most MOVEs. It’s a fantastic tool to get everyone involved and to generate a more physically active, happy and healthy community.
ToodyayMOVEs is our version of this app. Branded with a Toodyay logo, this new app will be fuelled by you and our community, and will connect local sports and fitness groups and local businesses with each other across a variety of challenges and all things health and fitness.
